Weather is breaking hope to get a ride in today.

RT 05-22-12 11:08 AM

Just had a lights outage here in the data center. Heading out for a lunch ride.

http://blog.artscyclery.com/races-an...of-california/

mentions nothing about them not choosing di2 because of length...

Im also only making assumptions here because I didn't follow the entire convo and what it was about and just happened upon this...

Imagine what the world would look like if it were AAPL, not MSFT in the corporate market. I don't mean Skywalker Ranch and Hollywood, I mean the real business world.

Based on cycling forums, Mt. Baldy must be the awesomest mountain on earth

After only one race back, I am not DFL in the USA Cycling Cat IV 55+ road race rankings. So I have that going for me (#39).

I'm mid-pack in the open 55+ rankings, #363 out of 487 in the 45+ open rankings. Should be able to move up quite a bit with half a dozen more races. This is meaningless, yet this is what motivates me.

This makes tons of sense and no sense at all.

Not a formal racer, but on lunch rides at work, I push it hard to beat everyone else. I race myself when commuting. The racing is ultimately meaningless, but I love cycling so much, any ride motivates me. It's the best part of my day.

patentcad 05-22-12 03:01 PM

I just take great comfort in the mind warping notion that there are idiots with racing licenses (who use them) who are actually even slower than me. That's astonishing.

None of my errors at this point in time can I be held accountable for. My brain is so scrambled today, I am surprised I can find the tab in my browser that takes me to BF. In any event, in another hour I will of completed my first day back to work. I just hope I don't have to deal with anyone between now and then.

Meanwhile, wut

Stay away from your firearms for another week quicksdraw.

This may be the best thing for you. BF, let alone this thread, does not deserve a tab of its own.

That is impossible. I sleep with a Glock 17 under my pillow, and I keep my Ruger LCP in my truck. I have no desire to discharge any of them anytime soon however. The percussion of a gunshot doesn't sound appealing at all right now. The only thing that does seem appealing right now, is laying my head on my Glock concealing pillow, and taking a nap.

Very surprising.

Meanwhile, the $FB lawsuits are already underway. Funny.

After two tourneys, I'm 96/154 in the local poker league. Free tourneys, so much cheaper than bike racing and no special equipment required.

Still undecided about attending tonight. Maybe if it stops raining.

I am astonished at how gun nuts seem to live in perpetual fear.

You want to kill me, I'm ready to go. You will not encounter armed resistance. But of course you will have to get past my killer attack dog Sam.

What happened to the latest "do you shave?" thread? I had a great joke lined up to rile the homophobes.

That is where the anti-gun gets it wrong not surprisingly. Having ready loaded firearms has nothing to do with fear, and everything to do with being prepared. The level of preparedness some reach can be excessive, but most of the time it has nothing to do with fear. I'm not afraid of anything really short of a "Red Dawn" invasion or something of that sort. My level of preparedness has me pretty well prepared for anything short of that. Even then I don't fear such an event, because my logic tells me such an invasion is not very likely to happen. I like yourself am at peace with the fact that I could parish tomorrow. Us gun owners would like to have a fair chance at surviving a home invasion rather than not. Some guys take it to the extreme like on that "Doomsday Preppers" show and prepare to survive an apocalypse. I figure if things get that bad, who whats the point in surviving anyway?

In any event, I love your dog Sam. It must be a golden retriever thing laying against the door like that. My old Bailey used to do the same thing. Speaking of guard dogs. It sounds like the poodle must of spotted a threat. Now you want to talk about delusional. That idiot is certain the squirrels are planning to invade us.

I wish I could snuggle up with a gun at night.

Clearly they have gun stores in Tennessee. Isn't it the patron state of shooting stuff?

DropDeadFred 05-22-12 09:13 PM

is it weird that I had my strongest day ever on our group ride after a century and just 1 day rest? I've never felt better and faster on the bike...ever...but I also felt my worst sunday after the century. *confused face* I was sure my legs would noodle out on me in the first 5 miles.

One day off after century is plenty. 25 miler will seem like such a breeze after the century.

I had one of my worst days today. Rode a few miles, then swam 6 lengths, then a few more miles, and I was sooo sloooow. Then visited the library and couldn't stay awake.

Right now, I'm trying real hard to stay awake 'til 10pm. And I only rode like 10 miles yesterday.

I think the swimming robbed my will to live.
