It will get worse - much worse - before it improves. Europe is a major friggin meltdown waiting to happen. And I mean MAJOR. Art Cashen, maybe the CNBC talking head I respect and listen to the most, is very concerned, and when Art is worried, it's time to friggin worry. We're talking panic in the streets, bank runs, the whole nine yards. Those pinhead Euro central banker weenies have about 30 days to get their friggin **** together or you can turn out the Euro lights, and that will reverberate globally. Dow will tank 20%+ if that all happens, and I think it's probable. Sadly.

I like that DA crank.

You all know nothing, and you can all bite me.

Just figure that out this week?

For belonging to arguably the most liberal family of networks, CNBC is better than FOX for my news needs. Economics influences politics more than any other entity, and CNBC does it right. I like 'em all for the broad spectrum they bring.

I read an article yesterday on how much college will cost in 18 years - as much as a mortgage these days, they say. I am already saving for my kids' kids, and they aren't even near having kids yet.

Things turned considerably darker over there in the past couple of weeks. Trust me on this. Nobody thought they'd jerk around quite this much, but that's what they are doing. This really can't end well.

Fox is a propaganda arm of Rupert M's far right whacko worldview. Worthless. Good grief, at least CNN, NY Times, etc. generally try to be objective in their mainstream reporting, even if they don't always succeed. Fox is transparently grinding right wing axes all day and night, even @ the anchor desk, not just on shows like Hannity.

CNN was the MSNBC of the 1990's - they have moved more center. FOX is the exact opposite of the current MSNBC. News channels suck in general, but I love CNBC. Santelli, Cramer, Kudlow, Quick. No other channel IMO has a lineup that is as consistent.

I used to like Hannity's radio show with Allan Colmes. After Colmes left, Hannity became too shrill.

Correct on the campy crank ugliness. Let's face it when it comes to cranks unless it is AX Lightness, THM, Lightning, Zipp, S-Works, or a Crackandfail Hollowgram. It is just an ugly overweight piece of junk. Those Shimano idiots are pushing the envelope of what ugly is.

WTF? We are so screwed.

I have liked all of my FSA cranks. They don't overthink stuff. Mock it if you like, but I have thousands of miles on my FSA thingses.

Somebody needs to ban stupid. It's the only hope for the human race, otherwise it's starting to look a lot like "Idiocracy" out there.

Interesting. I've always avoided FSA cranks due to bad reviews I've read. Everyone I've ever known who has had one had problems with them too. I like SRAM cranks, they are solid, look descent, but less face it they are kinda heavy. I feel the same way about Campy, and older Shimano cranks.

CCTV?

RT 05-31-12 08:35 AM

Yeah, never had an issue with FSA. A lot of the negative reviews, I suspect, are simply because they aren't Shimano, SRAM or Campy. The customer service is excellent, and the tech support was also good. The monster cross bike was a 73mm BB on a 68mm shell and the Afterburner crank. I had trouble with the spacers at first, and they really helped.

The only legit complaint I can imagine anyone having is that FSA aren't as stiff as the DA or even Ultegra, but for my Fredly needs, the point is moot. I doubt most bikes would be specced with the Vero, Omega or Gossamer without it being better than your alternatives.

The black road bike has FSA calipers as well. You really cannot tell the difference.

Yet they still report the financial news, which these days may as well be political/election news.

Velo Vol 05-31-12 08:48 AM

CNN. Ouch.

If you want news, Al-Jazeera English is pretty good. It's all ex BBC news guys who jumped ship.

CBC (Canada) is also not bad.

My S1 came with FSA Gossamer Compact cranks and Mega-Exo BB. No issues. The BB has a little play in it after 10,000 km but nothing major. It's maybe a little heavy but it does the job.

My legs are fried today.
