Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

You just more or less proved he's right. For the same effort, you'll go faster on a lighter bike. It's not easier, per se, because it's the same effort. However, because you are going faster for the same effort, it is, in effect, easier to go faster. Or, to put it differently, it would be harder to go the new faster speed on the heavier bike.

Awesome Carl doesn't believe in capitalization, punctuation or grammar. No one really knows why, although some suspect the pesticides........

i'm not sure you understand Mr. Lemond.

people who are motivated will find a way to achieve their misery threshold regardless of how effortless it is to ride a bike. they do this by going faster. it is self-regulating..
