Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Rear Wheel issues.

Today, I noticed that the rear axel (the silver part, is that what it is called?) is wider than the rear dropout.

As a result, my skewer is not flat on the bike, leading the wheel to wobble a little.

How do I fix this? Would it be appropriate to put a few washers between the dropout and the hub?

The bike is a '10 CAAD9 and the wheel is a '12 Ksyrium Elite.

Thanks.

That rear wheel looks like it's not held in one that side at all.

If that's the case, DO NOT RIDE IT.

If the wheel is new, take it back. If it's still under warranty, get it fixed.

Before you take that wheel back, put the mavic skewers in and try that. I dont know what kind of skewer you have and it *shouldn't* matter...

Problem fixed!
I went back and looked at the Mavic skewers. I had missed a black washer like thing when I was moving these wheels from another bike.
Thanks for the help.
