Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Gps?

I am in Seattle and looking for a GPS that allows me to chose road path that are less hilly. Would love some recommendations from others . Looking for a basic GPS nothing fancy but with the ability to show steepness of a path within the city as I cycle to work/cafe etc.

Thank you!

Uh... I don't think any GPS on the market will do that. Your best bet is to use the Ride With GPS website to map out a potential route and have it show you the elevation profile as you map it.

The city also puts out a Bicycle map that shows relative hillyness by having chevrons arranged along cycling routes that show which way the hill goes and how steep it is.

There's a great GPS called HTFU. Best of all it's free!
