Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Just get the old one......unless you have money to burn and want a flashy bike.

Reviews of 2013 are very positive suggesting that the 2013 is much better than 2012.

The new levers and brakes are supposed to be a lot better: https://road.cc/content/news/58457-fi...a-ace-11-speed

I like the look of SRAM 2012 RED much better. Who really needs 11 speeds.

You can get it even cheaper on e-bay for like $1400-ish. I know, I'm looking at this group for my new frame build and am in the same predictament.
The 2013 group uses polymer coated high quality cables for electronic like shifting.

Bikes: Cannondale Synapse '06, Mongoose titanium road bike '00--my commuter. Yes, Mongoose once made a decent ti road bike.

Well, I have a Shimano 11 /28. What is missing and what I could really use is the 16. So yes, an 11 with a 16 would just be wonderful.

That seems like a decently good price - if the groupset is complete, including cassette.

FWIW, Total Cycling has them for $1700.

Don't spend that much. Buy from Ribble in the UK for $1300. Free shipping. I ordered a Campy group from them and everything was perfect.

Maybe you ought to wait a year for the rumored Campagnolo 13 speed. Rumor has it they're going to go right past 12 speed to 13 speed to catch Shimano sleeping.
