Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Endurolytes

I recently tried Hammer Endurolytes, previously used Eload ZoneCaps, but can't find them any more. I dissolved the zone caps in my energy drink which is typically Eload or Accelerade. I have found that it seems the Endurolytes don't dissolve, but form a clump of whitish material that floats on the surface. Anyone else had a similar experience or use some time of capsule that does dissolve when poured into your drink? Carrying the capsules and swallowing them seems like a hassle, especially if its really hot and they melt. Thanks

When I want to add use extra Electrolytes I add Elete Electrolyte Add-in to my water try emailing for samples they use to send them out, I use it on long rides only 3 - 4 hr rides I'm ok with gels only and water.
Tasteless and odorless its great no mess in your bottles

Nuun tablets are dissolvable electrolyte supplements for your water bottle. They are not designed to be eaten and must be kept dry. I have not had any problems with carrying Endurolyte capsules or taking them with a little water while stopped. They aren't that easy to take while riding hard. I generally make a stop after 25-30 miles anyway, so taking the capsules has not proven to be a problem. I've even taking some at a stop light.

The hammer endurolytes can be purchased in Capsules.. which is what I use. Also if you add the powder to a drink it usually takes a vigorous shaking. Cold liquid is much harder than a warm liquid.

Endurolytes aren't supposed to be dissolved. I keep them in a tiny ziploc. They're my savior.

Endurolytes are to be swallowed whole, not dissolved. Did you read the instructions?

Their other product, Endurolytes Fizz *is* designed to be dissolved in liquid. Both are truly excellent.

This.

If it is hot & humid enough that I am needing electrolyte supplements, I am stopping to fill bottles every 90 to 120 minutes, when it is also convenient to take a couple E-lytes. I start off with a Fizz in each bottle, but from then out just take a couple caps at every bottle stop. Has worked well for rides as long as 7 hours.

these things are the bomb. I swallow them one or two at a time, or pull the capsule apart and put them directly in my drinks.

I collect the little baggies that come attached to clothes with buttons. They usually hold 4-6.

Funny. I was getting cramps on every single ride around mile 25-30. Then I went and bought Endurolytes FIZZ and started dropping 2 in each bottle. No cramps since, including a century last month. Doing another this Sunday and I am confident that I will not have any this time around either.

Am I the only one that thinks Nuun taste like ass?

I've seriously never tasted a worse mix than their Kola tablet. The fact that it takes at least 2 of them to actually work in a larger water bottle is also really annoying. Totally designed to fleece people for $$...

No. They suck. Hammer Endurolytes Fizz work great and don't taste too bad.

Hammer sells a little capsule dispenser. Holds probably 20ish. Easy to use while pedaling. Pop the top, get what you need.

In really hot weather, I'll use anywhere from 3-6 per hour.
