Just wondering what brand of bikes the riders of different countries are riding. Do the pros ride their normal team bike are do the individual countries have a sponsor bike? The bikes at the road race didn't seem to have as much branding as normal. And what type of stem were the Brits using?

The wily old veteran suckered the youngster at the end. Bet that's a lesson he'll never forget.

out walking the earth
It's always heart warming when a guy who should have probably been banned for life ends his career with an olympic gold. As in heartburn.

+1 million on "some guy?" Really?
In answering the OP's question...honestly, I'm going from old memory and just simple observation here, but IIRC, riders can use the bike they would normally have if they were riding on their regular team (wasn't TeJay on his BMC??). One observation though, it appeared as if all the Khasikstani (sp?) riders had the same model Specialized (or at least they were all red). The caveat being, I don't know enough about the other riders to know if they all ride on the same team anyways. Other than that, I'm not too savvy on the differences in rules when it comes to the olympic committee vs. UCI rules.

Yea those bikes were pretty conservative. Looked like all the bikes had eBay carbon wheels fitted to them.

That was a race designed to keep Cav from winning. With only 5 per team, GB couldn't put a man in the break and no other team would work with them. The race was longer than any stage of the TDF, and GB was toast before the end. After Vino and Uran made the final break, there was never a chance Uran (a Columbian climber) was going to beat Vino in a sprint. Then the race was on for 3rd.
