Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

BB troubles

So this is a question for the resourceful, out of the box thinkers...I have an 05 giant tcr, my problem is the bb threads are worn out.....one of the cups threads in a little loose, ie you can thread it all the way in with your fingers until it reaches the frame. When i ride, especially climbing it makes a creak noise which i am thinking is the cup moving around on the thread. The other side threads are not great either...My question is whether to buy some cheap bb cups....jb weld them suckers in there or is there any other ideas? The frame is old and I am just trying to prolong its life and dont really care about further damage. Can u get a new bb aluminum sleeve? this is carbon frame so cannot tap. Just throwing out the question... I also have another older set of DA cranks with the cartride bearing, should i try to swap with those? thanks for the input

Not sure how you wore out the threads on a BB. But anyways, can you put Teflon tape on the threads?
