Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Calf Strain advice

So I did a race on Sunday and ended up getting a severe calf cramp. Didn't feel too bad after but the next morning when I woke up I was in severe pain. I tried walking it off and even went to Yoga that evening and a ride with some climbing the next day.

It still aches when walking, and is painful to the touch (and when I try to stretch it), so I suspect it's a stage 2. Pain is very localized. I'm planning to take the next few days off the bike and also get a calf compression sleeve.

Any advice, have you ever had calf strains, how do you deal with them. What should I do (and what shouldn't I do)
