The ride position is low which is not great but it is more areo. I would rather ride a real bike but I rather be alive than dead and wonder how fast you could get a recumbent to go? To me a recumbent is different and interesting I would want to try one just to see what it is like.
Walking the dog with the wife is nice but it is not serious exercise. B) 'Serious exercise'? It makes me feel good, and study after study shows that walking a few miles delivers most of the health benefits of harder exercise anyway. I can assure you that if you simply amp up the pace and go 3-4+ miles, a walk can be reasonably serious exercise, particularly if it's hilly. |
doesn't he know you're supposed to sit on your sit bones? never sit on your balls.........

Well, with all the free time you will have off the bike, why not volunteer to be a mod?

Oh yeah, the insurance company denied coverage on the physical therapy until after they have reviewed how I respond to the physical therapy that they won't pay for. It's quite the Catch 22. I'll be battling with them next week.
P.S. the USA has the best healthcare in the world. At least that's what all my GOP pals keep telling me. P.P.S. I really sense a dull but very distinct pain, just like a knot you might typically get in your back or leg, but precisely behind my left hemorrhoid area and the dull pain radiates a bit down my left leg. NOT in the prostate area, but of course everything in that region is centimeters apart, so it takes a while to figure that all out. Increasingly this seems to clearly be a muscular spasm issue of some kind. Got worse this AM after a two mile walk with the dog with some hills. I'm sure I can get this to calm down. Insurance companies gave my mother a hard time when she needed treatment. More often than not I wanted to start yelling because of the nonsense they put her through. |

The first word is pronounced "roos-kya", i.e "Russian". The second is the English word "mafia" phonetically translated into Cyrillic characters. And just for added confusion, there is a space missing, so the word "and" got tacked onto the end. I just knew I would eventually find a use for the year of Russian I took in college. |

 Hey man, best healthcare in the world. Not for nothing, but I feel fortunate that I even HAVE coverage so I have a health insurance company to argue with in the first place. Not everybody is so fortunate. |

You lucky buzzard PCAD. Now you have the perfect excuse.
Two words: Perineum massage. Of course you need to find the right masseuse to make it work. I'm into the Swedish chicky masseuses, but how can you deny the technical precision of the oriental express masseuses, either? With enough finely directed stroking they get the lactic acid to flow right out of those muscles, and voila, they'll be good to go for some hard core riding action. Anyways, with enough therapy you'll have the happy ending you've been needing and be back in the saddle again in no time to make it sore all over again. |

Also Pcad, acupunture needles in your azz while riding FYI will be counterproductive. A tall Swedish women schooled in perineal message may help however...and in fact recommended post ride for even non-sufferers. |
walking is too slow but it sure is a good workout in hilly terrain. walking also gives you good buns.
|
this thread will be 20 pages soon. nothing has legs like a thread about pcad's taint.........

I can commiserate with your feelings about the bent . . . I mean screw that, that's like giving up.
Besides, I see those bents as a death trap. Drivers can't see us on the road on a regular bike, now you're going to get down even lower and ride next to these distracted jackasses, many of whom can barely see over the dashboard? Not bloody likely! Oh yeah, right, that skinny little yellow flag will make all the difference. I agree that the hilly walking is a good alternative during the convalescence. In fact some moderate hiking might suit you even better. Mohonk and Minnewaska have miles of great trails that include lots of rock climbing to varying degrees, and will keep you in good condition until you can get back on the bike. You can bring the pup and walk till your legs fall off if you like. |
