Best way to shed 100 grams off a road bike?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

To make the food taste better, which in turn makes you come back more often, which in turn adds more dollars to their pockets.

They couldn't care less about your health.

What did busy people with weird work schedules eat before the advent of the fast food restaurant? I suppose they just went hungry.

it's funny how life in America works. we tell our kids to eat healthy and exercise. but when it comes to fast food, the much more unhealthy items on the menu just happen to be on the dollar menu while the "healthy" salads are $5, $6, $7. and the "healthy" salads are even worse than the $1 cheeseburger. mcdonalds southwest salad is 370 calories and has 1100mg of sodium!!! mcdonalds cheeseburger has 300 calories and 700mg of sodium.
Its simple economics. Beef, bread and cheese can easily be mass-processed in huge factories, frozen or packaged and shipped to a store and sit for a reasonable shelf life. Lettuce and most vegetables (pretty much any healthy food) has to be hand picked, shipped and consumed within a very short period. Its more expensive to produce, you waste more when it isn't all sold within a couple of days, so the price is higher.

You must be a professional racer. Good for you. My recommendations:

(1) talk to your team's frame sponsor. see if they'll redesign a model for you that's 100g lighter. Perhaps shortening the lengths of cable housing required, or thinning out the bottom bracket shell walls.

(2) have your head mechanic solve this. don't let bikeforums advisors steal his work from him.

(3) find the savings on your person. you obviously must have only 5-8% body fat already, so wear less clothing. switch to the lightest carbon-soled shoes you can find. Use thinner straps on your helmet.

If you bring your considerable resources to bear, you can lick this problem! Good luck.

I have new mavic wheels already. looking to spend no more than $200. any advice is much appreciated.
this question is pointless unless you give us the specs on the bike and equipment you already have. pics necessary, preferably of you on the bike.

I've been working on ways to cook simple healthy stuff to work. For instance yesterday I cooked zucchini w/Parmesan cheese and sweet potato fries (from scratch) at work. I also keep things like those packets of cooked salmon or tuna in my drawer at the office. Saves money and is way healthier.

These two plus switching to a lightweight bar tape like Lizard Skins could potentially cut half a pound of weight for only about $60-100. If you get el cheapo carbon bottle cages to replace aluminum cages, that could be another 50-80 grams for around $30-50.
