Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I covet a few bikes, an overpriced S-Works isn't one of them.

Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's wife, nor his man-servant, nor his maid-servant, nor his ox, nor his @$$, nor any thing that is thy neighbor's.

This would appeal to me much more than that Specialized would. I bet the Parlee is cheaper too. I would like to have this, a Calfee Dragonfly or a comparible Crumpton but because of the $$$ I will not likely own one anytime soon.

Because the seatube is shaved down to shorten the wheelbase, I wonder if the bike is twitchy?

Check the chainstay length. It's basically 40.5 cm which is about as standard as you get. Wheelbase is normal too. The cut out is there because the seat tube is long fore-aft, not because the wheel is closer to the BB than on a normal bike.

A couple people I know have Venges (not the McLaren) and they like them, smooth, stable, responsive.

Built a Six-13 with Campy Centaur & carbon 50mm tubulars for $1200. Rides & races nicely, not really interested in anything "better" right now.
