Sram Red Yaw Front D
has anyone gotten one of these? If so, do you like it? Can you tell any difference in the red yaw and the force or rival front D??
Final question, will this work with a rival set up on a 2009 CAAD 9??? I think I've heard that it is compatable with all the sram groups, but just checking.

I've been using older red shifters with new yaw fd and workd great it is compatable 100% no chain rub in any gear
Shifts better quicker and quiter than original red fd

I had an Apex set up and the front shifting was junk. I switched to an ultegra FD and shifting was better. I now have the New Red Quarq with the Yaw FD and I must say it it is the best shifting I have experienced

Currently using the new SRAM Yaw FD, original SRAM Red FD and SRAM Force FD. The Yaw is the best. You can cross-chain without much issue or noise. But this was on a full 2012 SRAM setup so it may not be as crisp with a new old setup. SRAM Force comes in second and lastly the original SRAM Red.

by the way, I'm riding a Rival group, except the quarq.
So perhaps upgrading the shifters first would be the wise move.......

If Yaw FD is setup correctly you should get no chain rub on FD
That said if you do get some chain rub noise the only place it may come is Small Small combo but that chain rub noise will not be from FD it would be the chain rubbing the inside if the big ring, and should go away once you shift up 1 -2 gears on rear no more. So that rub is not actuall on the FD but inside big ring from the angle of chain.

haha thanks! I do get a tiny intermittent rub when in the large front ring and small cog but everything else is silent. It really just takes patience and time for tiny adjustments. I'd imagine a busy shop does't have the time to devote to a FD set up.

Had the YAW FD setup with 2010 Red shifters. Not much improvement over the Force FD I had. Waste of money in my setup. It may be worth it if you go all 2012 Red. YMMV
