OP, check out reviews of the detonators online, there are a lot since a lot of independent small bike shops carry those tires. Mine does. I hear they flat a lot and hence their name "Detonate". Personally, if you want a good cheap tire I would try to buy Michelin Lithium, I recently bought a pair for 40 bucks total. I got them at JensonUSA.com. Tires are light, durable and spin real nice and most notable difference is the cornering. A big upgrade from my 2 previous road bike tires (Kenda Kontender x 26, Vittoria Zaffiro x 23)

Quite simply you are comparing two enormously crappy tires. It is exactly akin to asking which pile of crap might possibly smell better. I simply suggested that you would be better off washing your hands of the situation. Buy quality tires meant for the purpose and you will see the real benefit that they bring in performance and durability.

As for bragging about our lack of flats...who cares? I have ridden years without flats on all sorts of quality tires. It's not an anomaly or even something to back pat yourself about.

This isn't the commuting section, so most of the advice wasn't geared toward commuting. You didn't mention that you were a commuter in the original post, so we aren't mind readers.

probably because I don't commute with the bike... i commute with my car thus more gas costs, car insurance maintenance. you get the picture... I'm calling this thread dead. Thanks to the 3 or 4 of you that had legit comments, you guys rock.

man, you sound too tense... just take advice if you want it, and don't take if you don't want it.
many of "unwanted" advises you received were because you were not specific enough in you original post.
take it easy :thumb:

The OP was very specific in his first post. He asked if any one had experience with tires. Even if they are crap I'm guessing most of the people commenting or suggesting alternatives don't actually have experience. They just like to talk.
