Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Tubes... 18-23 or 18-25?

Hello! I'm obviously new to the scene and was wondering the difference between 18-23 tubes and 18-25. My Conti3000s are 23. What are the pros and cons in my situation of using an 18-23 tube versus a 18-25. Thanks everyone!

The short answer is 2 millimeters. That's not very much. You will discern no difference what-so-ever between using an 18-23 inner tube and an 18-25.

Tubes come in different weights as well as sizes. You won't notice the difference between a 23 and a 25 given the same type of tube, but you may if one is an ultra light and the other is a heavyweight.

I'm a firm believer in 23 tubes.

yep....I have used under-sized tubes just to save weight (mostly on my mtn bike). Smaller sized tubes can be over-inflated so why get the larger size?
