In a zipbag that is in my jersey. The zipbag is to protect it from rain when the weather is bad, sweat when the weather is good.

I dont go without it. Typically, when I go on long rides (not this time a year) my girlfriend will call and ask where I am / when I get back. Also, shoudl anything go wrong, I like the idea of being able to call someone.

i use the topeak ridecase for my iPhone.but instead of lockign the mount to the headtube, i got the accessory handlebar mount and nount it on my toptube... it looks ugly, but gets good gps signal plus i can see the screen without taking my hands off the handlebars...

i carry a phone with me on rides so that my riding buddies can call me and tell me to speed up else they will drop me...

I use mine to run strava app, get myself un-lost with the mapping app, call for SAG. I use the phone as a pager when I am on-call and indicate that I prefer text messages instead of voice calls.

A guy crashed on one small group ride I was on. He cracked his helmet and had a concussion and a broken collarbone. Temps were approaching 100F and he was getting dehydrated out in the sun (no shade). He got a 60-mile ambulance ride.
He was too incoherent to use his phone, but his cell had his dad's phone number which we were able to find and use.
I stayed at the scene with his bike, we called another cyclist who was already at the ride finish w/ a pickup truck to come sag me and both bikes; and made arrangements to get the bike to the dad.
Lots of phonecalls were made; and we were glad to have the ICE numbers for our fallen friend.

jersey pocket - no bag.

I stick it in the center pocket of my jersey... It always comes out with some moisture on the screen. It's never caused any problems nor tripped the water sensors. iPhone 5 btw.

If I know it's going to rain, I put it in a waterproof bag in the center pocket, but it makes it much harder to use... I like checking facebook, sending texts, etc while riding.

In ziplock bag, right jersey pocket. Ziplock to keep it from dry in the event of rain, which happens alot this time of year (monsoon season)

I have one pair of bibs with a radio pocket and that's perfect for the phone. It keeps it out of the way and I never have to worry about it bouncing out of the jersey pocket. Sad but true- I lost a camera that way earlier this year and didn't even notice until I got home.

Phone goes in a jersey pocket in one of those Lezyne phone wallets along with ID and some money, etc...

I use a waterproof SealLine bag with external headphone jack. Put my ID and debit/cash in there. All of it goes into the center pocket with a CO2 and my cleat covers.

Honestly, I know I am an adult of 59 yoa, but I can not imagine any time in my life where I would ask someone else what color tape, where to put my phone, what color bike, etc.

I do this as well. Keeps the sweat off but the phone could still be used if necessary.

If you're just throwing the phone in your pocket, the sweat will eventually activate the moisture detection sticker. Manufacturers like to use this sticker to deny warranty claims.

I like these threads to see items that I may find useful for my cycling experience. I like the look of the sticky pod. I also like having my phone with me but I have no intention of stopping along an enjoyable ride to check facebook, etc.

I also now have a road ID necklace so someone can contact my wife if something happens to me again. When I was hit from behind a couple yrs ago, I was in the hospital before they finally were able to get a number and contact her.

I do enjoy the alone time but having things "available" for your safety is just smart.

Saddle and bike bags look fugly to me so everything goes in jersey pockets. Food/fuel in left pocket for easy access. Spare tube or tubular/CO2/tool all in a SPY bag in center pocket. Rt pocket gets ID/ins card/credit card and cash in zip lock. Phone also in rt pocket but not in zip lock unless raining. Vest/extra gear stuffed where it'll fit. Been using this setup for years.
