PSA: 50% off at Ibex

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

PSA: 50% off at Ibex

If you are looking for a wool base layer, wool jersey, etc. the 50% off makes it almost reasonable. I just got a giro jersey and it's pretty nice. Fit is similar to PI stuff. A large fits me fine and is just the right amount of snug.

https://shop.ibex.com/

Use the code "vipwinter" during checkout. Sale ends Thursday I think.

Awesome, thanks! Do you have one with back pockets? Do those work ok?

The giro has pockets and I believe most others do too. They actually work great. Just the right size for my smartphone to lay sideways and be less likely to fly out. Also, Ibex puts a strand of webbing on the inside across the top of pockets. This gives them more structure and less likely to sag. If you wear the jersey alone with shorts that might bug you. If you wear bibs or base layer I doubt you'll notice it - I don't.

I liked the first one so just ordered a second.

jp. giving us a size you wear without your dimensions is kinda silly :-) I wear a L/XL, but don't know what that means in bikerjp lingo.

I said same fit as PI stuff so if you wear an L in PI or similar you would likely wear an L in Ibex. In other words, I gave you a standard to compare to based on how you like your fit. My size won't tell you much but fwiw I'm 6'3" and 200lbs. I wear large in PI and Ibex but one of their reps said he was 6'2" and 200lbs and wears XL. Perhaps he has massive pecs or something. If I listened to him I would be making an exchange.

Having never worn PI, I would not know. Your height/weight tells me more than a chart that differs from manufacturer to manufacturer. I do not trust them at all, but in reviews I do trust when people state their dimensions. Thanks for the update though - I love wool and hate returning stuff.

Well PI stuff is everywhere. Of course maybe only the L size compares. Online is a crapshoot with respect to size.

You can try a lot of Ibex stuff on at outdoor retailers like REI, etc.

I have a short-sleeve jersey coming in an attractive color. It's starting to get a little warmer here, and I can start wearing this under a wind breaker soon, then by itself on east-side mountain rides.

Thanks bikerjp!
