Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I'm going to be getting into multi-track recording via Recording Software for Idiots (i.e. Garageband on the Mac). Actually, that program is great, and if you really want to tighten up your recording later at a studio or something they can manipulate the files with Pro Tools and other heavier duty software.

Are kidding? I've been recording all my crap with a little hand held digital unit sitting on a stool. These files will sound 100x better. Overdub. Reverb. Lead guitar. Harmonies even.

You'll see. You'll all see.

Of course last night I spent an hour plus, would up on the phone with Apple tech support and we determined my recording interface box has a non-functioning guitar input. New one ordered. It's a lot of work.

I believe you are correct.

Although he could be on double secret probation.

I just drove to work in -13 degrees...holy crap that was bad. Although it is super cool looking down at all of Minneapolis (can see most of the metro area from my office) and see all the buildings and their exhaust in the sky.

Saw a few bikers out this morning redefining HTFU. Gotta have no other option if you are biking in this weather (feels like -25 with the wind) and/or just be a monster.

I cannot bring myself to ride in the morning before work. I just mainline 40oz of coffee or so to get the motor running. Is that bad?

I wanted to get it done before I head to the eye doctor. I may head over to my parents' house afterwards if the roads are clear. As for riding prior to work, I work 6:30 - 5:00. It's tough enough getting up at 5:30ish, not much chance of me getting up at 4:30 to ride.

Weather guy just said that this is going to be our coldest day in four years, real feel of -15.

I think getting the metabolism running early is good. Maybe I'll make a New Year's resolution.
