I'm wanting a traditional bend carbon bar.

I have K-wings in compact and non-compact, but they both have the flat spot in the bend and then the wide flat tops. I prefer the compacts. Either way the CF takes the edge off road vibration, but the wide flat top really does help.

Either way that bike of yours should build up pretty light, I weighed a Scott Foil with the the heavier frame (it's 100 grams heavier than the one I'm getting) and the Ultegra Di2 with Ultegra components and the bike only weighed 16.3 lbs without pedals, and this bike had relatively heavy 1750+ gram clincher wheels. I think my bike builds up into a bike in the mid-15 pound range with Di2, Powertap, aero tubes, etc. We'll see. With my lighter D.A. clincher wheels (non aero) that bike may wind up being close to 15 pounds. My Scott Addict with the light wheels and Ultegra was 15 lbs, 10 oz, and that bike really felt stupid light, so once you get down under 16 pounds the bike feels pretty feathery. I can't imagine how nice a sub 14 pound bike feels, but I do wonder if there is a law of diminishing perception returns on lightness at some point.

Hey LC, what led you to buy that Parlee frame, and how much do those frames retail for? Did you buy it from a local dealer or off the web?

I've been drooling over that frame since I saw the AC/DC paint job on one. Frame retails for $4,800 and I purchased it from Wrench Science.

Did you have to pay that much for one? That's a lotta dough for a frameset, but if you gotta have it, you gotta have it. I get that. It's a problem.

I have Rotundos now, may check out the Tornova in the future - traditional bend but a little ovalized/flattish on the top.

Other than that, how did it go?

Went great. Felt good (probably means I didn't push hard enough). Didn't spin out and wasn't too tough to keep on top of the 43x16. Didn't get yelled at by any aero-bros. I may have been the only steel-is-real dude there. There was one old man on a '90s Klein and even that looked pretty out of place :)

A tall order.
