I must operate a bicycle whilst drowsy.

Hopefully I won't fall asleep and topple over into the middle of the lane on the way home.

Dont you use the clutch to downshift? why would the wheel lock up if the clutch was engaged? If it seized when the clutch was in wouldnt you have noticed?

I do use the clutch, but I was done downshifting at that point, had released the clutch, and was tipping in for the turn.

If I'd realized what was going on I could have pulled the clutch in, but it all happened so quickly I was on the ground before I knew what happened.

Weird mix of conditions on the gravel roads this evening. Splooshy mud, hard pack ice and a few dry spots. Got enough frozen mud under the BB that the FD cable got frozen to the frame and wouldn't shift off the big ring.

Something about riding into a 38F headwind cuts through the cobwebs.

VV. I wanted to tell you. The bing bar is now a permanent piece of microsoft. It comes with any applicable update. You can not get rid of it. I removed it from everywhere it could be found. and it is still on the browser screen for chrome. It sux.

Correct, until you update something that has this as an add on. I wanted to look at Mount St Helen. but the site said I needed to update java and supplied a link so I opened it and updated it. It installed this piece of crap bing bar and it is non removable. If you get past the first couple of sites hat come up when you google it. read the comments below. Initially it could be deleted, but no more it becomes part of the browser or some such.

Yeah I cant explain that either. It is covered in a couple of the responses to trouble shooting I read to. It comes from manually selected updates. why? Dunno

BillyD 03-13-13 07:01 PM

I have Apple Macs up the ying yang . . . no Bing bar.

Just saying.

ls01 03-13-13 07:05 PM

Not saying I know everything about this but I have deleted everything that came with the update. There were 5 things with the java update. Mostly garbage . I even did a restore. Cant get rid of it. Just thought it might be worth mentioning.

PSA - wearing skinny pants does not make you skinny.

nor does wearing cycling tights.

My research on the Scott Foil included a telephone conversation with Ben, one of their Top Secret In-House Tech Weenies today. He assured me that you could route Di2 through the Scott Foil 20 frame, even though it's set up for mechanical runs only. When I told him that was a rather counter-intuitive statement, he told me that if my bike shop couldn't figure it out they could call him and he would explain it.

I don't like the sound of that at all. These bike companies suck.

But the more research I do the more the Foil sounds like it's a good choice for me. The Addict was starting to feel a bit mushy.

I'm no computer guru, but I suspect there's a way to delete it. Microsoft would be revisiting its sins of the '90s if it started forcing people to use Bing.

function over form.

There is no function for skinny jeans unless you are skinny (and a young, hot female)

LesterOfPuppets 03-13-13 07:21 PM

Skinny jeans stay out of your chain better than boot cut.
