It's a single cylinder two-stroke GP bike. Uses oil/fuel pre-mix, and they're specialized race bikes. The 125 is what kids used to start on because they're small. They're really really high maintenance though. You have to check the air temp and humidity and change the jetting in the carburetor throughout the day, and there's an engine temp gauge that you have to watch carefully while its running. Basically the dash is just the temp and the tach. no speedo. If the motor is running cold, you put strips of duct tape on the front of the radiator to restrict airflow.

Basically when the motor seizes, it locks the rear wheel.

I crashed at the end of the long straight part.



As it was explained to me, I crashed at the end of a straight, just as I was tipping into T1 and had finished downshifting. The piston stayed hot, but the cold air/water cooled the cylinder, causing it to contract around the piston. downshifting with no load on the motor made it cool even faster and the motor seized. It freed up again when the engine cooled completely but the cylinder needs to be replated and the piston is probably junk. Brand new piston, and we just had that cylinder fixed... one ****ing piece of duct tape.
