Here's my theory... when I'm out on a ride on my 27 year old steel road bike (that I maintain meticulously) I often pass folks on some very beautiful carbon bikes that are sqeaking and creaking and rattling like a Denali. I'm pretty sure by the grumbling that I hear behind me, that they feel emasculated.

HoN is their chance at revenge at my fredly ways.

Fredliness aside, I'm not so subtle.

I was going to fix it, but I left it as a grammar Easter egg. You're welcome!

Unless you get a response that the poster has clearly put some thought into (the vast majority do not), I wouldn't put much stock into the reactions you get here.

I use care and caution, and considerable thought in every single one of my posts.

Well. Maybe all but 3.

Most awesome. Even the jerks appreciate a well conceived, and well maintained bike.

Compare with members who cannot even be troubled with posting grammatically correct sentences.

Thanks. I don't think it was deserving of that kind of compliment... but it has sentimental value, so I take care of it.

Come to think of it... the frame and fork, seat post, and crankset are the only bits to be sentimental over. LoL

Sure. And while you're handing out grammar infractions, can you get rid of the superfluous quotation marks and ellipses from the title of 2ndGen's sticky? Man that one bugs me.

Oh good, so it's not just me.

He was always good for a gif and unnecessary quotation marks. Where'd he go, anyway? :innocent:

Is this even a complete sentence? Is there an implied imperative that I did not infer?

LowCel 03-26-13 04:20 PM

It looks a little different than it did an hour ago.

"Compare" is an imperative there. I'd have fleshed that sentence out a bit but it's not exactly incorrect.

Pcad's sickness is infecting this thread.

LAJ 03-26-13 04:54 PM

I had pcad's sickness before pcad had pcad's sickness. I htfu, and raced.

If we had more mods and I had more time I would just sit in that hot/not thread and hand out infractions like M&Ms . . . that place reminds me way too much of my signature.

I'm all for thick skin, LC, this is the interwebz after all. But it goes too far . . . you don't have to beat a guy up just because you don't like his bike.

We can behave in here. Why don't you go and camp there and kindly and gently wave the ban-hammer around.
