I have posted in there. I didn't get raked too badly.

Now TampaRaleigh posted a catastrophic "marriage over" flag, and we all jumped in sympathy, because three previous marriages means he has mad skills a truly recognizing suckage.

I think, really, when I post something negative, the reactions here don't exactly help me stay in a healthy frame of mind for it. So, I'm going to stop that, and hopefully it'll help keep those thoughts at bay anyway.

And yes, the interpretations of what I say seem to be stronger than what I intended. Ah well.

WhyFi would get raked badly. As nice as the Jamis is, it certainly isn't "staged".

Bah Humbug 03-26-13 12:28 PM

In other news, switching from Kinvaras to NoosaFAST seems to have both slowed me down and cause shinsplints. Switching back to my Kinvaras, and will grab a new pair of them when the 4s come out in a month or so.

For four years now.

Not even a date. Any moves I had are now outdated, any skills I acquire will be trial by fire, and I will die a spinster curmudgeon bachelor teetotaler retrogrouch before doing anything online with regard to meeting Ms. Right.

Yet I cannot get to the locker room to get this ride started.

If we had more mods and I had more time I would just sit in that hot/not thread and hand out infractions like M&Ms . . . that place reminds me way too much of my signature.

It's one of my favorite threads. People just need to realize that they need thick skin when they post in it. If you want everyone to say nice bike and not give an honest opinion post in the "what bike do you have" thread. If you want some honest criticism and to know that your bike is actually "hot" then post it in the "hot or not" thread. Just because a bike isn't "hot" doesn't mean that it isn't a very nice bike.

Does not compute.

Oh, I know. I just wasn't going to move it for a quick pic in Addiction. I can take a better product photo than just about anyone in that thread. I'm going to try to get some pics taken before I ride the new wheels and rub the black off of the brake tracks. Maybe in a couple weeks when the wife and child are visiting her folks in VA.

One of the first things I saw in a BF harsh thread years ago:

Men give each other insults, but don't mean anything by it.

Women give each other compliments, but don't mean anything by it either.

Been there, done that. It's awful when one has passed and the other one can't live alone, so now you're clearing out the home where you were born and raised. Rough.

I do, however, think I'll quiet down about these things here, since it doesn't exactly seem to be helping. Will just mention when things are going well.

What you need to do is start reading some self-help books on relationships. There's tons of info out there. And like many experts will tell you, the first step in fixing a relationship is to look inward and fix yourself first.

Yes. This is what I call the difference between the "before" time and the "after" time.

Silly roadies.

I'm all for thick skin, LC, this is the interwebz after all. But it goes too far . . . you don't have to beat a guy up just because you don't like his bike.

There's some guys in there with very nasty attitudes, and it's unnecessary. They're just taking advantage of the opportunity to be abusive. Demonstrates an inner malice . . . it's my civic duty to help them through that, make them a better person, make for a kinder, gentler nation. :)

I posted my nearly 30 year old road bike in there completely expecting to be shredded... I think it dazed and confused everybody.

Is it wrong of me to bash the Cervelos and complement the fredmobiles in that thread?

It's like grade school, those little kids can get real vicious when they sense weakness. How's a lone individual supposed to defend himself against a mob?

That's what real "friends" are for. To tell you you're an idiot when you're an idiot. And (according to the courthouse) I've been an idiot at least 3 times in my life.

Just to add, I believe most guys behave decently in that thread . . . but there's a few . . . .

And for abusing the readers, we're going to start handing out grammar infractions.
