Hey guys.
I'm not normally one to ask questions, but ... What do any of you recommend for bike shorts for distance riding (ie, over 100km)? I have three pairs of Cimas, made in NZ but with a weird chamois set-up. They're getting on to three years old, have been worn about 8,000km each, and are just about knackered (as is my arse from the GT1000). I have seen the Pearl Izumis (the Vicko who came down to suffer on the GT had them), along with recent adverts for them. Anyone with experience of the PIs? The upmarket Nettis? Anything else? |

PI Assos Giordana (they make the Nike stuff for USPS) Santini Castelli Nalini Vermarc Bioracer Agu Sport Cannibal All excellent and I can recommend. Get the best you can afford and: Wash on gentle cycle using a gentle soap...eg. a wool mix. Dry in the shade, I hang them over a doorknob overnight. Apply a quality chamois cream like Assos before each ride. That should keep them in top nick (ha!) for a while...... |

http://www.chase-durer.com/newsite/p...ite_dial_z.jpg Nice. I've got an auto Omega Seamaster Professional I got in 1998. For an automatic, it keeps brilliant time. [And I can pretend I'm James Bond] :D |

I've got a Seamaster too. One of my few automatics, but not so accurate as it rarely gets worn. I'll still take the accuracy of a Swiss quartz ETA movement over the automatic for every day wear. My prized watch is an illegal McStalin from Russia. I'm sure it's radioactive or something. 17 jewels and a plastic crystal. I only wear it when I ride a road bike*. Which is never.
*Obligatory road bike content. |

*Obligatory road bike content. I've asked my wife for a Breitling Windrider crono for our 5th anniversary.....I'm still allowed in the house, so it's looking good so far. If I was out somewhere wearing my Polar as a watch, I'd be paranoid that someone like me would see it and think "He's kidding himself if he thinks he's a bike racer..." |

I dunno....I wouldn't say no to a Submariner or GMT Master in stainless. |
I have a jeweler's display dummy Daytona. It's the one they used in a window display in some place in Los Angeles that got ripped off a lot. It's got a Seiko mechanical movement, and looks the *****, keeps great time. US$10k for the real thing, no thanks.

Daytona looks awesome. Highly collectable. |
Stainless/stainless with a white face. The only model I really like. I collected stainless handguns at the same time. How American of me.
