Gold....at the big roundabout in Diamond Creek, I've let rip with a huge grot at a car that was passing after riding my ass all the way down the single lane descent from Greensborough.

Shouldn't have left the passenger window open, champ.....

WHAT!!

I've gotta admit, when I'm riding in bunches, some farkin cyclists P1SS me off just as much as drivers.

The classic is that section of Beach Rd. near Charman Rd., and most of Station St., where there's a "reasonable" bike lane and only one lane for the cars. I figure if it's a smallish bunch that's only riding 2 abreast, then they can fukn stay in the bike lane and let the cars pass -- especially when they're only hacking along at 30kmh. :)

Geez..the stories I could tell about that bloke. Not for an open forum, of course. :D

Hitchy 10-19-04 11:14 PM

........actually, the thing that annoys me the most is the ignorance of most drivers of the actual law......we are allowed to ride 2 abreast except when theres an unbroken white line!......the amount that give you a serve when you're actually obeying the law is unbelievable...they are all gutless though...I always motion for them to come back & we can 'discuss' their problem...they never do. I love it when they get caught at the lights though..........they ***** themselves

Many of those big track guys seem to have similar personalities. I was chattin' to Max Rainsford a while ago (another good East Bentleigh boy), and he's definitely a chip off the same block, i think. I reckon you've gotta be like that to a good trackie.

By the way, Rainford's knackered; his back's fukd, and he can hardly work or anything.

Jeez, how big are you? You must be frightening.

It's always in the back of my mind that they could be one of Carl Williams' mates, who's "carrying"

nah....but if they get caught at the lights & they know that you know that you're gunna catch them...they see you ridin' 'agressively' after them....I saw one bloke, crap his dacks.....stuck at the lights...he could see 10 blokes coming up the road that he'd just given a mouthful to......he reversed back friom the lights....wrong side of the road...ran the red light...duhhhh.....we were still 20m away!

I've noticed a flaw in that "views" tally. If you double or triple click on a thread, it registers as 2 or 3 views. So, it registers each click of the mouse, not each view.

If you click your mouse 10 times really quickly, view the thread, then return to the "road cycling" page, you'll notice the views will have increased by 10.

So, if everybody double clicks to view a thread, then double the views are being registered

I have no life :)

Hitchy 10-19-04 11:41 PM

.....it's scary that you know this stuff!...must be something to do with hanging around with a cervello that smells like the fish markets!

Thylacine 10-19-04 11:55 PM

If Simoni rides an Arione, how the heck is my arse gunna fit on one???

I just swapped the Flite for my older WTB Pure V. And my rear tire is flat. Bugger.

ed073 10-20-04 12:03 AM

Airone is certainly the "saddle du jour"....

124 bucks US for an Arione. Now my arse hurts more.

531Aussie 10-20-04 01:52 AM

I get second hand Turbos for $10 at Bicycle Recycle.

John Kennedy sometimes lets people try out some of the low to moderately priced seats.

62vette 10-20-04 08:36 PM

You Aussies have been silent today! Are you all trying to catch up on your month's work before the end of the month :D Plenty of time for that, you're barely half way through!

I look forward to a daily dose of Hitchy! Something is missing, and my afternoon ride in 20 minutes just won't seem the same :(

Never mind, the sun is out, and I'll be out in the country in 40 minutes, so I think I'll find something to enjoy about being out on two wheels today.

G'day. Hitchy will be lurking around here somewhere.

Did you find out what sort of handle bars that guy busted when he hit the man-hole?

I've had a couple of crashes that were caused by equipment failure (ever tried breaking a crank!!), so I'm pretty paranoid about that kind of stuff.

I am waiting for an update on the rider from our club captain. I may not find out about the bars till he is back on the road. The grazes alone could keep him off the bike for a couple of weeks yet.

Breaking a crank sounds like you could end up breaking your own bottom bracket if you know what I mean OW :(
