how'd you manage to do the quad strain?......the wind was a bit of a pain for me...i wanted to do some 'intervals'....so i had to paln my route so that it was mostly into the wind , so i could get the HR up a bit. Going with it was a joy though!......all cycling should be down hill with the wind...i bet thats what its like in heaven....but I'll never get there to find out...just as well, i wouldn't know anyone there!...:D

I think the quad thing is a part of that other problem I was talking about other week. It was sore
before I left, so I probably shouldn't have gone, but I thought it would warm up.

I try to organise my rides so that the wind blows me home.

Heaven, hey? hmmmmm. :p

If I'm the only one on Beach Rd. later today I'll put a front page ad on the
front of The Sun, complaining that we are a bunch of girls

Jeez, you've "earned" even MORE enemies over the Giant. :)

Can I state the bleeding obvious?.......

If someone spends a few grand on a bike, then they hear it ain't necessarily the "bees knees",
they interpret it as: "you're an idiot, and you just wasted your money"

I know...i'm gunna keep my trap shut in future...I can't be bothered arguing with them anymore. Wait till they read the 'exclusions' in the warranty....it's supposed to be a racing bike right (admitedly a poor one, but a racing bike none the less!)...guess whats excluded under the warranty?.......aww you've read it!...yep...racing!...I know of 2 instances where Giant have denied responsibility for cracked frames cos the thing had been raced (not dropped in a race, just raced).....so in adittion to making ***** frames...you can go jump when they fall to bits.....& more & more of 'em are...but hey....no-one who has shelled out for one wants to hear that!

I know a guy who's about 85kg, who cracked three of the alu ones!!!

They replaced his frames, but he ended up giving up and bought a Pinarello Prince.

dunno much about the ALU ones....it's the composite TCR's that are starting to cause some grief. We've got a kid in our club, saved his hardearned up & got himself a shiney neew TCR, (the one with utegra & ksyriums) wahtever that model is...anyway, kid weighs 65 kg wringing wet......bloody thing flexes like spaghetti behind the BB where the cahin stays join.....cracked in 3 mths. Cos he made the mistake of mentioning that he needed a replacement quick smart, cos he had an important 'race' coming up...giant denied liability (initially)...thing has never been dropped. Lawyers at 10 paces. eventually giant offers a new frame, kid dosn't want it anymore, what with all the ***** giant put him through, he just wants the money for the frame & legal fees...you reckon he'll ever buy another giant?.....

Got another McDonalds/Giant metaphor:

Just becasue millions of people go to McDonalds, it doesn't
mean it's the best restaurant

By the way, Cervelo have finally put their 2005 bikes on their site....if you're interested ;)

They seem to have gone to Campag, and for some reason the top carbon model has doubled the price of
the '04 R2.5

I might be reading things wrong, but they look to have added Campag Chorus to the range along with established Dura Ace (TEAM) bikes. An unusual cocktail for a bike range, but they must know what they're doing.

And my LBS has just snared a Cervelo dealership, so I might get to perv on one or two of them. Whoop.

Where did you find the pricing

If the pricing is in AUD then it might make interesting reading for when LBS sets his prices. Oh yeah, the first shipment of '05 units has already SOLD OUT in Oz!!! It's due in this week.

Thanks man.

What's a Bayonne? Is it good? Should I convince the wife that it would be a good thing to have, or just pull a Saccy and hope for the best?

The Bayonne is the top carbon model, and weighs about 6.8kg.

Team CSC mainly used it for the mountain stages in this year's Tour (to go uphill, obviously :D ).
I'm not sure if it's intended for the hustle and bustle of flat stage racing....but I really don't know.

Whatever it is, it's too farkin much..... :p
