Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Not hot dude. Should be level with the ground or follow the same angle of the stem.

I've grown to like my k-edge too. At first I thought it was a solution to a problem that didn't exist.

+1 with K-Edge which I recently got.

I only wish it came in anodized blue color and they should come out with a CONTOUR mount as well (been waiting forever).

I have a k-edge. At first it cut a bit into the garmin, but now it doesn't. I treat the mount with a spritz of PTFE to make it slide on like butter. I particularly love the positive lock it produces.

I've read in the reviews that some have gently filed the contacts and put a few drops of chain lube and there was no cutting in or removal of plastic. Of those that mentioned the minor cutting in, no one had any problems several months later. Most that have tried the k-edge seem very happy with it.

love my k-edge. like said earlier, i thought it was a solution for a problem that didn't exist, but this thing is rock solid. one thing i hated about the stock garmin mount was pressing a button and the whole unit shifting. this mount it doesnt move at all. also a better viewing position IMO.

One thing about the K-EDGE is the smaller bolt gets easily stripped (the one that hold the head to the clamp lock). I wrote K-EDGE and they said they are going to send me a new bolt, one with a bigger allen head because they are aware of the stripping issue. Other than that, the unit is rock solid!

Yes, but worse is that I saw another thread on Lynskey, and that is getting my Titanium itch going again.

You can use something like this, and attach your 705 mounting base to it with zip ties (I used a piece of double sided tape also underneath the base with the zip ties). I have a bar fly and something like below, I prefer the below with my garmin 500 mounting base on it. I paid $10 for my barfly at a swapmeet---it just feels cheap and it doesn't get me the same angle the below does. Mine isn't that wide--it is as wide as the computer and has a second arm attached to the handlebar. Very sturdy.

Over $300 for an integrated stem? Interesting, but looking for a mount for the Garmin 500, not a stem and mount.

Have never seen this mount. Looks like a good design. Is it still a prototype or available now?
