Well, I'll try. First it's very cool.

Now in full-justification mode: it's lighter, leads to crisper shifting and especially braking, and when it's time to re-cable you just re-thread inside the housing, so it lasts way longer.

Also, it's very cool.

And you can be like Spartacus: url

Have you looked at PowerCordz? Lighter than almost anything else, and it's served me well for nearly a year now. Never had to re-adjust anything. I paid less than $200.

Wow Happy B-day and enjoy the new ride!

I love how the new 2013 Sram Red chainrings look with the S-works cranks!

No one should be so lucky to get a bike like this from their wives as a gift. I call BS on this

Just checked the other thread and I'm still trying to find out which bike brand you like the most.

Can we see your stable sir? There were 2 frames on that thread + S works posted.

PS
I have a feeling this guy's initials are TB or MC and "Rob" is just his alter ego.

out of my own curiosity, you have DI2 and SRAM Red, do you have a preference in shifting that had you stick with the SRAM or is this just the spec of the bike?

Di2 was good, but I prefer mashing with mechanicals, IMO it shifted faster or it just felt that way. I road the Di2 for a few months before I sold the bike. I might go back to it, in the future...

Dean V 05-14-13 04:03 AM

What didn't you like about the Venge?

Campag4life 05-14-13 06:03 AM

As a Specialized fan, that is some pretty bike swag...pro level bike brother. Congrats Rob. Also, I have a buddy who bought a bike with Di2 and swapped it for mechanical because he preferred the mechanical 'feel'. New Red looks very nice. Could you come back after the bike is built and provide your impressions?

svtmike 05-14-13 06:07 AM

I wish I could get my wife to keep buying me bikes until she gets it right.

I love the Venge, I still have it. I might sell the frame to get a silver colorway.

Rob13 05-14-13 11:17 AM

Im not going to use the s works bars or stem. I cant finish until I get my 3T stealth stem and stealth ergonova bars come in.

Rob13 05-17-13 05:06 PM

My Bar and stem came in today.

3T Stealth

3T Stealth Ergonova, went with a shorter reach and drop, compared to the S Works Tarmac Bend.

boy that fork steerer looks beefy compared to others! I love those S-works bottle cage bolts, nice touch. Looking forward to more pics as you go and good choice on the bar/stem. One thing I'll really give to Specialized is that they really have mastered many of the contact points. I know that not everything will fit everyone, but their shoes and saddles I think are best in class.

Yes, you're right about the shoes and saddles. They're top notch.

Great Wife, Nice Rig. Good luck with both of them.

Adrianinkc 05-19-13 09:18 AM

If it were mine I would have a guy outline the 3T logos in red to match the s-works on the down tube. Looks great. Sorry my OCD kicked in.
