sram's durability and reliability

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

this is actually quite an amusing post. so innocent, yet so odd. Put a smile on my face reading it.

I have STX-RC from 1995- I neglected it as kid and it runs like crap
I have Ultegra - 9speed from 1999. I've wrecked the snot out it and abused it. It still works but runs like crap. I need to replace it.
I have Dura Ace 7800 from 2008. It's barely been used until a year ago. It runs great.

I'm super aggressive with my equipment and I haven't had many issues with Shimano for about 10k miles. I regularly shift under power, out of the saddle, etc.

Been doing the same thing with SRAM(only 300 miles so far), no issues yet.

Components are cheap, I expect to replace things and I prefer to ride hard.
