I didn't check in between the 14-ish pages and 21. Something kicked it back up hard, and there was talk about it being stupid for anyone to buy a powermeter unless their team sponsor was giving them out, or (the bit that lit me off) buying a nice tri bike to do sprint tris.

Cant find the thread.

Yeah, that was the bit that I was involved in, but dude couldn't or wouldn't answer a simple question (instead talking about people he knows that blah blah blah). He can't make a point and he's not interesting, so I was out.

In local bridge news, a truck fell off of one today.

I suppose asking if the people in it are ok is... not going to go well.

halfspeed 06-19-13 04:38 PM

Well, no group ride tonight. Stuck in the ER with the wife. Maybe I'll go slap around Mr. "I have strong opinions on things I have no clue about" in THAT thread again.

Sorry to hear that hs, hope she's OK.

Meanwhile, a third suspect is sought in the watermelon wranglers case.

Hope Mrs Halfspeed is OK

Good luck to Mrs hs.

I would totally love to see you back in that thread for a bit though.

We think it's withdrawal symptoms from coming down on some of her pain meds which were causing her other issues. It's all part of post lung transplant life. They'll probably make some adjustments, stabilize her and let her go home.

42.7 miles today. I actually stopped to see if I had some brake rub going on. I didn't. It was one of those days.

I did a ride recently wher I could not understand why I had no momentum. Turned out it was a I was on a slight uphill for a long way.

That's serious issues right there. Best wishes for a speedy resolution.

It amazes me how many people are on long term medication. It's just awful.

Around 40 pills a day, give or take. Beats the alternative though.

I don't think that's the sort of case with most people on long-term meds though.

On the other hand, I am. Seems like a huge fraction of the people I know are on Lexapro. However, I can tell you guys that no matter how much you think I worry too much, you have no idea what it used to be like.

There was a truck crash like that on a freeway into Melbourne recently. The truck was left hanging precariously over the side, but the driver fell 60 foot to the road below. He was still alive, too, but in a very bad way. Basically brought traffic into Melbourne from that direction to a standstill for a whole day while they figured out how to lift the prime move back on to the roadway.

Excuses, excuses.

Admit it.

You're too fat for this sport.

My sig is actually a multi-layered parody of his old one. I kept mine after he changed his because it amuses me.

Best wishes for the missus, halfspeed. May she return to full speed soon. :thumb:

I am off to have a look-see at that thread that just keeps on giving.

In between throwing logs on the fire here. It was 0.8 deg C out there this morning. Had to make a dash to the woodshed in the jamies, and then the fire wouldn't light. A good dose of denatured alcohol fixed that!
