So apparently the Old Badness broke his expensive carbon mountain bike frame. Went over a big rock or something.

Carbon mountain bike frames just seem like a bad idea.

Not dousing any fires here.

It's not that bad as a frame material actually, don't know the situation, but it probably would have been enough to have damaged an aluminum frame as well,

If I understand it correctly if you're not braking stuff when mountain biking you're doing it wrong. I would not know.

Not always the case.

Dannihilator 06-09-13 08:51 PM

I've always considered not breaking stuff to be successful.

Then how come you no longer do trail rides?

I try to avoid bruises and broken bones, in general, so I don't do mountain biking.

Nope, was just really really burnt out from it.

But do you have a carbon frame mountain bike?

Of course, I did manage to crack my pelvis once road biking. That was fun.

Dannihilator 06-09-13 09:34 PM

I like to think that my years on a mtb have resulted in having really good skills when descending.
