Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Yeah. I am not a fan of the velcro straps either. I have a Lezyne micro which I think is great except that the velcro straps have stretched out and now are starting to come apart. I think I am going to cut it off and then go to REI and get some 3/4" nylon webbing and buckle.

If you desire proficiency in the art of stashing objects of vital need in unobtrusive yet conveniently accessed places, there is much to learn from the masters: terrorists and dope fiends.

Surprisingly, it doesnt get as dirty as I thought it would. How hard would it be to manufacture a bottle cage with a stupid little bracket on the bottom? Is free space down there, going to waste. But if someone would rather have it rolling around in an undersaddle bag full of rusty tools, or have it bonking around in their jersey, go for it, I guess.

If I make this my last post, this thread has a better chance of surviving 24 hours without getting locked down.

I love my Micro and finally had to break out the needle and thread to secure the straps again. Apart from that, I like it as a saddle bag.

So are you saying someone should stuff all their gear in a profolactic and swallow it before a ride.

I saw one of these at the LBS the other day. I've seen people tape things to their seat post but this isn't a half bad idea either. Maybe put the tube under a bottle cage and the rest strapped on with this.

Or, you can go old school and use a toe clip strap -- if you can find them any more. In the old days, when tubulars reined, a spare tire secured with a toe clip strap was all you needed.

Seriously I use of of them and it's great. No more unsightly saddle bags and everything fits into one jersey pocket. That leaves room for a mini pump and three PBR

Now THAT must make your jersey sag!

lemme help you with that

I don't think my small saddle bag dangles, judging by how secure it is when I move my saddle back and forth. even if it did swing around, I wouldn't really care. It's more convenient than having a bunch of stuff strapped by a band,

Yes, I have a beautiful girlfriend, but explaining to you how to get one is both futile and beyond the scope of this thread, which is about utilizing free space on a road bike to store items without using the hideous storage packs you already have and which make you look like you should be in plus-fours and smoking a pipe while pedaling off to see your uncle Ingstrom.

I'm absolutely shocked that a thread titled "Stop Dangling Your Bag" has lasted this long without getting locked.

That's quite an emotional reaction.
But I understand.
