Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Bianchi 63 cm steel frame bike

Hello I'm looking to purchase a used bianchi road bike with steel frame as my first road bike. I will be riding it daily on a college campus 5 miles per day. I am 6'3'' tall and looking for a bike for a tall person. I am not sure what model or year the bike is, and I don't have much knowledge on bike components so looking for an experienced person's opinion. He is asking for 475$ OBO.

Nice bike, but for a college campus you have to consider theft. Do you really want to risk losing a nicer bike? There are cheaper options, around the $200-$300 mark on CL with 105 group set.

I'm willing to take the risk of looking after the bike, I would like to know if his asking price is worth it and if the steel frame is worth the price. Does anyone recognize the model?

Post in the C&V Appraisal section. bianchigirl can give you lots of details on it. Not very good drive side pics though. The people over there will be best for pricing advice and bike level.
