Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Got bike fitted, lost weight...

Guys,
I've gotten myself fitted for a bike a while back. I've gone from 165 to 140. Lost a lot of fat in butt area.
Now I feel like the saddle height just a tad too low. Does losing weight make a bike fit different?? has anyone had this happen.
Thanks!

I doubt a change in your physical dimensions is going to require a change in bike fit.

Increased strength, fitness, flexibility, and the adapations that came with the miles that lead to the 25lb weight loss may well lead you to wanting to change the aggressiveness of your setup.

This has nothing to do with fit...you just want to brag about your weight loss. Braggart! Well done, by the way!

Two quick questions:

How long is a while back?

What has your daily diet consisted of in as much detail as you care to give since your fit?

Most fitters provide a free follow up. If not, I'm sure they would check your saddle height.

Hi,

If it feels too low it probably is. Lift it up until it feels right.

I went from 185 to 153 for this cycling season. Had to change saddles, the one that fit me at 185 killed me at 153. The saddle that did not work at 185 fits like a glove now. I moved the seatpost up about 3/4". No other adjustments needed.
