Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Pimp my ride

So I did a few upgrades last week, new wheels and such and it really made my bike look pretty sweet. The next time I was in the shop I picked up some new rubber (Vittoria Rubino's) in Black and yellow and bar wrap (Profile Design black and yellow fleck pattern), and they made my bike look very eye catching. The fram is black with all black components, and a yellow trim on the frame.

I'm happy with the performance of my bike so any other cosmetic upgrades anyone can suggest?

Yellow speedplays

How about posting some pics? We need bike porn!

Selle Italia also made a saddle that was 1/2 black, 1/2 yellow, divided down the middle. I think it was a Flite model, and Nashbar used to have it on clearance.

How about some of those cool tassles that hung off my big wheel handlebars when I was a kid.

Seriously, post a pic and we can help you pimp your ride!

I had hockey cards in my spokes when I was a kid. The player was some rookie so I figured the card wouldn't be worth much...some Gretzky guy.

I don't have a digital cam, but if you go to the link below you can have a look at it on the Norco website. Picture it with the forementioned changes and Ksyrium Elite wheels.

That is a hot looking bike, I think if you add cages they should be yellow, and I think the seat should me all yellow, I have seen a Selle San Marco saddle that would look perfect on your bike. Here is the link and thank you for letting us help Pimp your Ride!

J. Lo, on your bike, wearing nothing but a smile. 'Course you'd probably need a wider saddle.

I can't stand her. Rather have Sheryl Crow wearing that yellow jersey dress sitting on my handlebars.

Does anyone make yellow brake cable housings? That would be pretty cool too.

Maybe you could also paint the seatpost clamp yellow?

Just an idea.

Did you know that the Abrams has a smoother ride than a Cadillac? No kidding. I talked to some tank soldiers once, and they said it's more like flying on the ground.

Gotta get me one of those.

I saw a show about them once. They were talking about the weapons control system. Then they showed one at full speed, hit a bump went in the air, it locked on to the target and fired while airborn. Impressive.

You think that's cool? You should see the new stealth tank the Army is working on. I saw a few glimpses of the proto-type on Discovery channel. AWESOME!!! is the only way to describe it.

Yeah...just think...for the price of one Abrams tank, you could purchase the entire output of the Colnogo factory for several years.....

Anywho if I wanted to talk tanks I'd be asking about pimping my 50 lb DH bike. Speaking of which my engineer friend seems to think it would be funny to put spinning rims on my DH bike, he says he can fab them.

Bikes: 2 many

What a nice looking bike. I have a good one for you.

You can still buy the colored anodized aluminum bolt sets. They come in many colors. I don't know if there is a yellow that is an exact match. The blue looks like the blue on your wheel stickers. On one of my bikes I have blue chain ring bolts, blue derailleur pulley bolts, and blue derailleur pulleys with nice sealed bearings,.... I could add bottle cage bolts, derailleur mounting bolt, a seat post clamp bolt, and crank bolts too.

They are aluminum, you most likely would be saving a little weight too.

And yellow cable housing is available. Or Just about any color if you went with something else.

The bike with blue chain ring bolts, pulley bolts, and pulleys.........

You may also like the color of these Pariba pro Paris-Robaiux tires too for the future. I had them on a Litespeed with the yellow letters on the bike, it looked pretty good.......

You really need one of those fake license plates hanging off the back of your saddle. Get one that reads "Napoleon". . .

Yeah, but you wouldn't kick her(j.lo) outta bed though would you?

How about some tennis balls in between the spokes, they come in yellow and all kind of colors, this way you can have that old school look with the balls in the wheel spinning.
