Slippery cycling apparel
It was cold out this morning so I wore my relatively new Cannondale bib tights and I was reminded what I don't like about them. When wearing them I feel like I am sliding down the saddle. I am always having to move myself backwards. I have a pair of shorts where the same phenomenon occurs. With my other tights and shorts this does not happen, which says to me that it isn't about saddle. Is it a certain kind of material? The shorts and tights that do this have material that are very different looking from the other. I just don't want to buy something similar again. Can't figure this out.

I know the slippery contact you are talking about, but you shouldn't constantly be having to push yourself back if you are set up correctly. If you have shorts with a slippery material, it may make it easier to slide into other positions, but you should have to keep pushing your self back. Maybe your saddle is pointed down to far And/OR your saddle needs to come forward a little bit?

Pushing yourself back up on the saddle is an indicator that your saddle position needs to be re-evaluated.

I agree. I had a frame a bit too large while commuting for a while and I slid forward because I angled the seat slightly down. I can imagine a mild version of misfit could have this effect.

Tip the nose of the saddle up a little bit.

You aren't feeling it as much when you wear the other short because they are sticking. When your saddle is in the right position you should be able to ride without sliding forward and be able to get in the drops without discomfort.
Tilt it up AND forward.

Another thing you could try after leveling the seat would be turning the saddle slightly to the left or right so the boys can hang and not be smashed.

I too had issues with this and tilting the saddle back just caused pain. I pulled a pair of cargo shorts over my bike shorts and solved the problem. While the seam in the cargo shorts negates part of the benefit of the bike shorts it seems to cause LESS of an issue that the sliding and seat tilt did. Plus I'm just too modest and didn't like displaying my ass quite as predominantly, I like the pockets too

Yeah cargo shorts is not something I would recommend. It may mask the issue, but does not solve the problem. If you tilt your saddle back up and are still feeling there is an issue, then you need to play with the for and aft position as well. If that doesn't work, seatpost/saddle height. If that doesn't work, different saddle shape.
Some people can jump on any saddle and ride. Others like myself need very detailed fine tunning in order to ride in comfort.
