Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

bar tape colour

So I've been thinking of changing my bar tape to a more interesting colour than black and I was wondering what colour would suit. Club uses red and green.

Either will work. Just think about which colour combo you like better: blue/green or blue/red. I would lean towards green, but that's just me.

You could try blue, but if it's not exactly the same blue as your frame accents, it won't look very good.

Blue, black or silver would work.

your chain line is making my eyes water, hope you don't ride in the combo?

Goes nicely with the blue on the frame and matches the wheel reflectors, yep, I think I'd go with some shade of orange

Thanks for the support of my idea, but don't confuse orange with mango. Orange is, well, orange, but mango is totally mangolian. You should be ashamed of yourself. Orange, indeed! What would BDop say?

Mangolian! Hahaha!

Maybe two tone wrap job with mango below the levers, orange on top. Reminds me of one of my favorite KHS colourways:

Black goes best with your frame. Otherwise, I would do white.

I'd try silver. If you go white, something else needs to be white(cables?). I've had a few bikes with black tape. Works on some bikes, others it just seemed to boring. You can try Stella Azzurra, they have some simulated leather/perforated/sewn tapes that look & feel nice.

To my eye, it looks very nice as is. The black looks perfect with the frame paint fading dark in the front to blue and silver at the rear.

Obviously purple and pink is the way to go. Why would you even ask so obvious a fact.

So...do you run colored tires or are you saying tape is always black?

I don't think you have a lot of options with the frame colors.

Keep the black tape, but getting two black bottle cages will improve the overall look of the bike.

If you're a conformist and like to succumb to peer pressure, go with black or white.
