Pontoons for Shimano Road Shoes?
I just bought my first pair of cleats/clipless pedals. Riding is even more heavenly now.
Shoes - Shimano SH-R087 (road shoes)
Pedals - Welgo SPD (compatible with Shimano 98a cleats (included) or 51s
I wanted to get MTB shoes for walking in stores while running errands during my commute, but the Shimano SH-R087 road shoes were super cheap, on clearance in my size, which is why got them over MTB shoes.
However, walking in them is a nightmare, as expected. Cleat covers look a little too temporary for my needs. That being said, does anyone have any luck with pontoons? If so, can anyone recommend a good pair that are compatible with my gear? I'm researching on the internet, and so many reviews are talking about compatibility issues.
Thanks in advance!

Don't bother with the internet. Just go into a bike shop and buy some pontoons. They'll be cheap, you can determine if there are any issues with your pedals (unlikely), and you'll be out in a few min.
When I started riding clipless, I rode SPD with pontoons on some cheap road shoes. It works just fine. When you wear the shoes out, you'll be happier in the long run in MTB or touring shoes.

Awesome! Thanks for your input. MTB shoes will definitely be on the future purchase list.

Never any them myself but here they are for $6.70 at Amazon if your LBS doesn't have them. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...=ATVPDKIKX0DER

Just carry cleat covers (light, easily fit in your pocket, cheap) - and learn to walk with them.
Seriously. It won't take more than a few outings and you'll be completely comfortable in them.
Just IMHO...

I can't stand walking in SPD-SL's!
On my trainer its fine, but walking around in the store would be a nightmare for me. With cleat covers its bearable, without impossible.
SPD ftw for any cycling the requires you to walk/run.
