Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

FYI - spd adapter for road shoes.

I have a pair of neoprene booties that I bought through that auction place. Name brand and good deal, but the cleat cut out is for dirt rather than road, and my spd shoes are mtb with thick cleats, so the sole is way too thick to fit.

I have searched for adapters for three bolt road shoes so that I don't have to buy new shoes with limited success.

Is evidently made by Wellgo: found it on that auction place and is sold in other places - about $25.

It works well enough, but limited adjustment fore and aft, even less for rotation. I am using them with cheap wellgo pedals that are probably difficult to enter at best, but it is made even more difficult because I can't align the cleat for my natural foot position. I am beginning to get the hang of it, but still dicey and slow.

Anyway, they solved a problem for me and might actually be useful for somebody else.

Regarding this adapter, if you have a road shoe then buy a road pedal that uses a three hole cleat mount. Oh, ok, the product description says they are to be able to use your road shoes in spin bikes in health clubs that tend to only have SPD pedals. That makes a little bit of sense.

Btt if you need to buy a cludgey $25 cleat adapter to use the shoe covers, then how good of a deal were they really? There are plenty of shoe covers in the $20 to $35 range that are designed to work with road cleats.
