Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Good deal?

I have a chance to pick up a 2013 Giant Defy Advanced 1 for 2300.00 I was leaning towards a Synapse Carbon 5 but the Giant seems like so much more bike for almost the same price as the Synapse. Thoughts?

Giant is comfortable and very solid. Not a thrill ride, but a great value when new.

Can't go wrong with either and as long as they both fit the Giant is a better value.

Giant makes a hell of a frame. I love my TCR Advanced. That sounds like a great deal. Go for it.
