Already up about 10 lb over usual max. "Stuck" here in the old home town, NOLA, until Sunday the 5th. Been here over a week already and won't get home to dining sanity in Houston until then. New Year's Eve dinner last night was a four course fixed-price (usual size portions, huge) blowout at Mr. John's Steak House. Friend's birthday celebration was at Antoine's the night before. Fried soft shell crab. I don't even want to talk about lunches and afternoon pastries on Magazine Street. Pizza planned for watching the Saint's game on Saturday night. I need to go to confession, and I am not even Catholic. But it is so easy here! I mean the eating and the confessing. Quick, someone tell me which sin is gluttony.

........you can do this. I've done it for 64 years and I still know where I'm going and how to get home.
When you get too old to remember how to get home without the phone, just get someone to pin a note to your shirt.

That's pretty sweet - extra heavy-duty for leather?
Wife and I found an old Singer (in a table) at a Salvation Army for $45 a few years back. About $5 worth of parts from ebay and it runs like a champ.

yep. taking over part of a friend's business since she's retiring. leather lettering and logos for racers.
i'm not sure it's going to pay our mortgage, but i already have a list of customers who need stuff. people freaked out when she announced her retirement, and she's training me. should be fun. i need to throttle this thing back though before i sew through my hand.
a friend brought it over. it was sitting in a warehouse for the past 7 years. he saved it from a dumpster. it's on permanent loan for as long as i need it. he's got a cylinder bed machine available too.

Already pedaled 28 miles this year. There was glare ice on the MUP, but I #HTFU and kept going.
My 2014 fasting is still going strong.

Just back from the second round of running around the corn fields with Benson. Mid-teens, but at least the winds have calmed down. I need better gloves.
