I'm using the low end Garmin etrex. BW monitor. No fancy colors. But very adequate.
My wife bought it for me when my boat was slipped in Marina Del Rey. Deep fogs would roll in very quickly. You were kind of screwed if you didn't have a GPS.
I strapped it to my handel bars with rubber banbs about three weeks ago, just to see what would happen. It worked batter than I expected. The mounting kit came in last week.
I've seen the etrex on sale for as low as $70 at stores like Target. I'm very tempted to get a higher end model
