What type of trainer are you using in the winter?
Hello All,
I was just curious, what type or trainer are you using?
I am using a fuild trainer from Performance Bike, from a friend who put less than 100 miles on it. What do you use?

CycleOps Fluid2 and TrainerRoad to take away some of the monotony.

Super-craptastic Nashbar fluid trainer. It's rusty, loud, and the tightening handle broke off long ago so I have to use a vise-grip. But it holds the wheel and provides resistance, so that's all that's necessary.

I've been using my Fluid2 for close to ten years. Once you get one that works I don't see much reason to change. I have owned two computrainers during the same time, I always find my way back to old faithful.

Super cheap trainer with decent reviews, with the knowledge that I'll rarely (if ever) use it.
Being in Texas myself, it's more tempting to bust it out in the summer rather than winter...

Kurt Kinetic Road Machine + Trainerroad. This has been such a good combination that I may continue to use it for my interval sessions throughout the season. There is nothing like being able to control the variables when doing structured training.

Surprised at how many use the KK and TrainerRoad.
I use a Cyclops Super Magneto with TrainerRoad for structured workouts, intervals, etc. And Tacx Galaxia Rollers for recovery or Z1/Z2 rides. Fortunately I've been able to get outside on average once per week in between weather but still using the trainer for most rides right now. Like some others I may use the trainer during the season for some structure, the terrain where I live makes it really hard to control (lots of short ups and downs)

Spin classes at the YMCA but I am looking to get a Cycleops Super Magneto Pro to supplement the times I cannot make class. I like that the pro allows road riding as well as steep hills all in one machine.

I have a travel trac 3 by performance (fluid) that I got off CL for $40 this past fall. Doesn't look all shiny and new, and I've never tried other trainers for comparison, but works fine
