Strava - Manually log ride with map
So on my Sunday ride, my Garmin Edge 500 did not save the file. Likely my own fault not saving it correctly but I'll worry about the reason later. I looked at the Garmin just before trying to save so I know what my mileage, avg speed, time moving and ascending stats were.
In ridewithgps, I manually traced the route, put in my start time and duration and it nicely saves a good approximation of the ride (but of course does not have detailed stats such as time/speed/HR splits for climbs or any other segments which I am OK with).
Does anyone know how to do the same on Strava? I exported the file from ridewithgps as a TCX history file and uploaded it to Strava. But the resulting activity logged in Strava dropped my average speed by 3 mph, lost 500 feet of ascent and what is worse it gave me a third place KOM on a 0.3 mile hill climb that I would in actuality be lucky to maintain half the speed it says I did. (I politely flagged my own ride so that I don't show up on the leader board for that segment.) Also, Strava shows that I started the ride at 1:15 am when it was actually 1:20 pm. I've read some info about how Strava reads the timestamps differently than what ridewithgps exports but haven't been able to figure out how to fix it (despite being pretty computer savvy which skills pay my mortgage and buys my bikes).
I would like to get a rough approximation of the ride on Strava in the same manner as I have on ridewithgps. I know I won't get correct segments, etc. and that's OK but I also don't want to mysteriously show up as a segment KOM leader.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks!
