After a hilly 40miler I slowed to water up on the homestretch 5 miles. As I returned the bottle to the cage another rider zipped by me. No clue where he came from but it was obvious he just came from town and was fresh. Probably eyed me as his next victim. So I settled in and slowly gained on him with a decent pace at the next two grades. On the third hill I could have sprinted into a draft position but just wanted to let him know I was not a valid "drop" for him. He swung around and headed back. Some people ride for the thrill of the catch.

When I ride solo, I keep my mind set on my own cycling experience. Just as long as nobody hugs my rear or passes too closely, I tend not to worry about other cyclists' intentions
