Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

It's just water weight. Same thing happens to me. Take a Pamprin and you'll be fine.

It's either winter there or winter is right around the corner...I don't get it. Are there armed guards at the borders?

...but honestly, I consider the rattlesnakes I see here all the time on the bike trail to be a pretty fair trade off.

Oh yes, the rest of the country is just petrified in fear. They're everywhere. When is the gubment going to do something about all these snakes?

I guess that's a positive although you really probably don't spend a great deal of time outdoors there..least I wouldn't ..

...it's a mistake to not go outside and do stuff in the coldest parts of the winter. You start drinkin', and next thing you know a couple of years have slipped away.

If you get out and ski, and go ice fishing, and skating, you still drink, but you seem to burn it off and it damages you less. The important thing is the drinking.

I cannot tell you how many times a beer and a bump kept me from eating a bullet in the short day months.

Minnesotans love the outdoors. The BWCA is one of America's great canoeing destinations. There's hunting, fishing, ice fishing, xc skiing, snowmobiling, cycling, fat biking, gravel cycling, snowshoeing, skating, ice hockey (yes, outdoors in winter) and more. In fact, water skiing was invented in Minnesota.

I just came home from a very long and busy day at work, followed by a very short and slow 2.2 mile run.

Did I miss anything?

But I still encourage them as they get the sedentary folks moving at least. Anything that gets people to ride is a good thing.

There is actually a popular mup/bike path near my house, I want to try riding on it at night, when it would be deserted, but my wife forbids it as she thinks it's not safe.

We haven't had a photo theme for a while. How about outdoor bathroom fixtures.

I hate them... bumpy from tree roots, lots of debris, dogs, joggers, rollerbladers, etc.
