Wearing pro teams names?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

That La Vie Claire jersey is pretty cool.

That's all I got.

Love wearing matching kits. Love seeing cyclists in them. Teams, LBS kits, whatever. Wear it and be proud.

I have no problem wearing a team jersey. I have a red BMC jersey, and a red white and blue Hincapie BMC jersey. I got them on clearance, and happen to ride a BMC. I also have a coop mercier jersey.

I personally wouldnt wear the full kit with the bibs and socks.

I wear team caps and gloves as they're usually inexpensive and the only ones I find comfortable. The rest of the kit I won't wear because it's a uniform and I am not a member of that team. If I want to go out in full kit I'll wear my clubs.

I've seen grownups do that ... strange

Wear what you like. Personally, I'd wear a Sky kit. Reason? I really like the simplicity and that blue is nice. Best looking kit in the pro peloton, IMHO. Nothing to do with the team for me. Just like the kit.

I only wear jerseys from teams I've ridden for or shops I support. But that's just me. As long as you're not racing (where there are rules about what kit you can wear), then knock yourself out.

If you go to the park to kick a football about with mates, quite a lot of them will be wearing Manchester United or Arsenal shirts...or whatever team they support. What's wrong with that?

Edit: I may wear this though.

I'll wear my Davis Phinney Foundation 7-11/Hoonved jersey and if you think less of me, so be it. Can't really force you to get over yourself.

I wear this Team Cofidis (doping era ) jersey and black bib shorts.

I wouldn't ever wear matching jersey and shorts.
I dork, but never full dork.

I'll sport one on rides from time to time. I draw the line at event rides though...for some reason I feel that is in bad taste figuring many riders will wear their local team kit (you know, because they actually belong to that team). I have a Specialized Tarmac Saxo frame so I'll wear a Saxo jersey from time to time. I will not sport a local team jersey though...there are real team riders out all the time and I do not want to act like I've earned a spot on their team...

I also have a KC Royals jersey and some Chicago Bears Jerseys...I like wearing them from time to time too.

As always...I'll say some people need to lighten up. Most cyclists that were a pro team jersey aren't actually trying to make people think they are pro...

The BMC team trains in our area. I have a full BMC kit I bought from Competitive Cyclist which sadly is too big for me now. But when I wore it and would run into the team on the road ( always in a large group going by me or coming at me like a freight train) I would get waves and smiles. They seemed to take my wearing their colors as respect.

Insecure people are worried about what others think. Wear what you want. No one really cares. And even if they do care, do you think they will actually say something to you?

I am getting this kit in a few weeks, I like the Sky design, the price, the unique green color and the white back for heat protection

This kit is designed to aid the best cycling team in the peloton. Even though it is a knock off, I live in such a sparsly populated area 99% won't know what Sky, Pinarello, or the WWF are with the later potentially being confused with Wrestling

I think that full kits look like you're wearing pajamas while riding. Of course, I wear high-vis yellow shirts while riding, so I look like a bumble bee from Chernobyl.

Agreed... I'd rather show my support for local bike shops than some international corporation. Besides that which kit do I wear? Trek Factory Racing because I ride Trek, BMC because I like TeeJay? Garmin because I like Tommy D and Andrew Talansky? Sky because I like fellow Virginian Joe Dombrowski?

My head hurts, I need to ride and drink!
