I'm really curious what happened. When I get home I'll have to investigate. If the patch failed then that means I suck at patching. If there's a hole someplace else then there's something hiding in my tire. Or gremlins. I might need a priest.

Update: it was a crappy patch job. Patch wasn't centered over the hole, and should have used more glue. It would have been good enough to get me home though I think.

Please...yes, of course I used the bucket. Of course it's a real PITA to carry that damned bucket with me when I ride, and asking people to borrow their hoses to fill it up when I flat! :roflmao2:

Good job.

Who darns their own socks?

caloso 05-27-14 10:02 AM

I do. I'm not very good at it, but who cares? It's covered by my shoe.

t.braxt 05-27-14 10:07 AM

I do.

I do. I use pieces cut from old tubes that have been patched too many times.

That's why I always ride with the bucket full.

Tube Time?

I had a Raleigh Lenton Sports from the early 60's. Had the slap shift front derailleur. Original Dunlop tires and tubes, sold the bike about 10 years ago to a mega-collector. I'm sure those tires are still going strong, 50 plus years old!

I fear you just called out the god of flat tires.

I don't change until the tube flats. I don't patch either, just a personal choice.

Still no flats yet :D But today's ride gave me cleat problems, lost 2 screw :( Had to borrow one from the other cleat
