Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

New Bike Build with pics...

So I am working on my new bike build. most of my bike builds start with a good deal here and there.

some inspirational image from le google...

I got a giant tcr 1 frame for $35. a stripped down frame. 1-1/8th threadless... made between 2003-2006. I weighed the frame in at 1075 grams. as well as checked out at 2 LBS

One of the LBS happened to have a really nice carbon fork they sold me for $130. steerer tube has good length and fits my bike perfectly both in size and looks. I scored the carbon seatpost from the local bike co-op for 10 bucks. I machined a clamp to fit the top perfectly.

I removed the bearing cup from the frame and measured it. luckily for me there is a giant store in my area which ordered in a replacement deraileur hanger, as well as confirmed that the FSA orbit CF headset i ordered was correct.

In a week i should have my Hanger as well as my 105 BB and FSA headset. I am planning out a matching paint job while i wait. Maybe the giant store will have decals i can put onto the paint job for cosmetics
